MEC comes out as UK’s top media agency in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For 2011

MEC, a leading media agency, has today been confirmed in 68th place in the highly prestigious The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies To Work For 2011.

This fantastic achievement is even more of an impressive feat given that this is the first year that MEC has entered into the process. Additionally, the high-profile agency has come out top amongst a host of its close competitors to take the billing as the highest ranked media agency in the UK.

The judges recognised MEC's five year revenue rise from £180m to £600m but paid special tribute to the following areas garnered from the agency-wide employee survey:

• Investment in staff training is three times the industry average ensuring strong teams and managers with 75 per cent (a top ten score) saying that the training is of great benefit to them
• In the employee survey, staff said that they had a positive future at the agency scoring an impressive 74 per cent positive score
• 71 per cent of staff said their managers helped them fulfil their potential whilst 68 per cent said that the senior leaders listened to their employees
• The survey recognised that 73 per cent of staff felt a strong sense of family within MEC with that same number saying that senior managers live the values of the organisation

The 2011 process saw 1,165 companies applying to achieve a ‘star status' with just 498 of these companies achieving the feat, split between small, medium and large organisations. Based on staff feedback, organisations receive a Best Companies index score which then determines the star rating compared to a fixed standard. MEC was one of the 498 companies and has been awarded a 1 Star Status Accreditation which corresponds to a first class rating.
